Innovation & Incubation Hub

The company has the Geomasters Innovation Centre (GEINOC), which is a A hub of young entrepreneurs for innovations ‘Nurturing fire in the Belly’

Geomasters Innovation Centre is a platform that is aiming at creating impact among the youth by supporting young innovative entrepreneurs to build skills that they need to successfully run businesses in the ICT, agriculture, livestock, water, fishing and forestry sectors. The center is established to nurture the next-generation of action oriented entrepreneurs but also facilitate innovation

The innovation center background: Agriculture is the backbone of the economy and contributes more than 23.84% of the GDP. Many youths have a lot of hope in agriculture although the majority remain unemployed. Investment in profitable and transformative agriculture enterprises in the value chain requires strategic skills and innovations that can drive the youth to invest and benefit from the national endowment of natural resources for advancement in agriculture.

The center aims to:

Enhance the capacities of youth in advancing science led agricultural innovations
Stimulate innovations that enhance youth empowerment in business development

The center is involved in mainly four core aspects for empowering the youth:

(a) Training:

Training the youth on modern and sustainable business models for agriculture, forestry and livestock sectors
Empowering youth build ideas and turn them into products and services for business. The hub acts as contact point for exhibition of proven products and business for scaling up

(b) Nurturing:

The hub aims at identifying youth innovations and nurturing them into bigger ideas. The hub is a center where youths ably hope to pitch their innovations/ideas and compete to work with specialists to make them a reality. The hub through apprenticeship allows youths to have their big dreams come true.
The hub nurtures youths to learn how to organize grants for startups – for specific innovative business case projects for youths. The hub bridges the gap between funders and youth-run entrepreneurs.

(c ) Stabilizing:

The hub aims at following up youth who are scaling up innovation by stabilizing businesses and product markets. The hub organizes accelerator Programs to stabilize and boost youth innovations for sustainable revenue models.
Coordinate and increase access to drivers of business development (credit, insurance etc) as well as liaise with government programs that aim supporting youth startups

(d) Recognition of Excellence:

The hub makes efforts to organize awards for best and progressive youths in a year for specific regions. In addition, youth are empowered to engage on platforms for excellence, networking and sharing of success stories with media, podcasts, and social media to inspire other youth innovators.
The hub also aims at organizing trips to excelling business centers for selected youths to allow others to learn, get motivated and learn technology which can empower many promising youth into entrepreneurship.
